Counselling fees and payment

Sessions typically last for 50 minutes and are $220/session. Payment is required at the onset of each session. Payment can be made by cash, credit card, personal cheque, or online bank transfers.

Sessions are typically offered in-person or via a telehealth platform designed for professional health providers and their clients. For those of you not familiar with virtual clinics, the platform is user friendly, highly secure, requires no fancy downloads and can be accessed via computer, tablet or smart phone. For unique circumstances, some sessions may be conducted over the phone. The phone option, however, must be discussed before the session takes place.

If your circumstances do not allow you to cover the full cost of a therapy session, please contact me directly to discuss other options.

24-hour Cancellation Policy

Unless you provide 24-hours notice, you will be responsible for the full cost of your session. For example, if your appointment is at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, then you must cancel your appointment by 3:00 pm on Monday. If we both agree that you were unable to attend due to circumstances beyond your control, I will waive a significant portion of the cancellation fee. Further sessions will not be arranged until late cancellation or no-show fees are paid.

Insurance Coverage

I am a clinical psychologist registered through the College of Alberta Psychologists. At this time, psychological fees are not covered by Alberta Health Care. However, most extended health care plans cover all or a portion of the cost of services provided by a Registered Psychologist. If you are unsure what your plan covers, I encourage you to connect with your plan provider to clarify the specific terms and/or limits of your insurance plan.

Please note that psychologists’ fees are income tax deductible. This means you that may have to incur the initial cost but can then seek reimbursement through your health insurance provider by submitting your receipts.

I am also a listed provider for various EAP services, and can bill directly to Alberta Bluecross, First Nations & Inuit Health and Veterans Affairs Canada.

I seek to support people on their journey of discovering the joys of living in this world and to experience this joy now.
